Experimental Investigation of the Dynamics of Driver Route Choice Behaviour

This EPSRC funded grant existed to study the real behaviour of real drivers choosing their routes through a road network in response to changing network conditions. The objective of the project was to achieve a better understanding of how drivers pick their routes as day follows day and thus improve the computational modelling of traffic congestion.

The grant was jointly held by the Networks and Non-Linear Dynamics Group at the University of York and the Institute for Transport Studies at the University of Leeds.

While the grant is finished, publications from this project continue. See the publications page for information. Choose an item from the menu below to find out more about the project.
